ABOUT CHRISTMAS MAGIC
While November is the month for Thanksgiving, we want to work ahead to show foster families how thankful we are for their daily sacrifices with a gift at Christmas time. We’ll use all 5 weeks in November to work together with our community by collecting family presents, gift-wrapping supplies, restaurant gift cards, and monetary donations.
There are around 165 foster families in Ottawa County. Our goal is to reach closer to 20% of families this year. Last year, we were able to give Christmas Magic to 18 families (a little over 10%).
you can help: 5 ways in 5 weeks
- Family Presents – board games, science kits, smores maker, snow cone machine, badminton set
- Gift Wrapping Supplies – wrapping paper, gift boxes, tissue paper, tape, bows, ribbon
- Local Restaurant Gift Cards – West Michigan locally-owned restaurants
- Stockings & Stuffers – create filled stockings or shop for the items to donate
- Sponsor a Family/Monetary Donations – to create Christmas gifts equally for foster families
All items can be dropped off to our friends at Wellness Co. located at 400 S. State Street, Suite 250, Zeeland. We kindly request items be new. Business sponsorship opportunities available (see below), contact office@michiganfosters.com

The cost for each family gift ranges from $200-$300 depending on how many members are in their family. Last year, families ranged from 2 members to 11 members!
